We have received a “special exemption” to the state-wide fire ban. We can hold sweat lodge on certain dates only and only if the conditions meet certain requirements. Approved dates are listed below. More will be added as they are approved.

Community sweat lodge dates: Open community ceremonies are only scheduled about a month in advance. All scheduled community ceremonies are posted on this page. If it's not posted, it's not scheduled yet. If you are trying to plan in advance, please sign up for the email list and you will notified when we add ceremony dates. Please do not email to ask about community ceremony dates further out than are posted here. We will not have any further information. Thank you.

Private Ceremonies: Please contact us with questions and to inquire about specific dates. We book these as far in advance as you'd like. Thank you.

COMMUNITY SWEAT LODGE: The sweat lodge ceremony provides us the opportunity to come together in community for prayer, healing, and purification.

WHO MAY ATTEND: Whether you are a new-comer or have been participating in sweat lodge for years, you are welcome. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. We simply ask that you hold the ceremony as sacred and respect the traditions and guidelines as they are shared with you.

WHERE: Most lodges are held at the home of Little Bear and Jennifer in Ranchos de Taos. Directions will be provided with RSVP.

RSVP (Always): Even if you have attended one of our lodges before and know where we live, please notify us if you plan to attend so we can let you know about last minute changes or cancellations especially when rain, snow, or wind are in the forecast. Lodge will only happen if we have enough participants so please always let us know that you are coming. If you have never been to our home, directions will be sent once we receive your RSVP. You can RSVP through the CONTACT page on the website. This calendar does not allow links for some reason.

ARRIVAL: The gate will be open 45 minutes before lodge for arrival.

DONATIONS: Lodge is a community effort. SUGGESTED DONATION of $25-$45 AND/OR donation of labor/time (We always need help with cutting firewood, building the fire, cleaning up, etc.)
